Hey everyone!

I hope that you all are doing well and enjoyed your weekend! I attended the Pulse New York 2013 VIP Press Brunch was on Thursday, and I was there with bells on! When I got word that it was coming up I wanted to make sure that I was in attendance because I’ve been dying to go to an art show!! It’s definitely been a while since the last one that I went to so I was too excited to cover this one.

As soon as I walked through the door to retrieve my press pass I looked to my left and noticed the coolest piece of art. It was a 3D living room lol!! I couldn’t resist the urge to take a pic, so I whipped out my camera and made it look like I was sitting on the chair & turning on the light switch. In my new pictures you’ll also see that I’m sporting a different look, BANGS! I’ll catch you guys up on that in the beauty section after this post. Anywho, there was so much art and after retrieving my press pass I was eager to see everything. Mimosas were being served to everyone as the servers made their rounds, I didn’t drink anything though.

My favorite piece of art had to be of this sculpture of these two older ladies made of news paper with curly black hair and bags. It was funny because I bumped into it and was about to turn around and apologize when I saw it was a sculpture lol. Oh and the Beliebers would be proud to know that there was a picture of Justin up for sale. Fashionistas! There was a fabulous Chanel No. 5 photo hung up in black and white.

After viewing all of the art we were invited upstairs to grab a light brunch. All in all I had a great time! It has been quite a while since I attended anything art related so I’m happy I got to cover this event. Thank you and I’m looking forward to covering next year’s Pulse New York 2013!

NFL Draft Week Festivities

Hey everyone! NFL Draft Week is in full swing; the first round was on April 25 and continues on until the 27th. I joined in on the festivities on the 24th, I was invited to a gifting suite event for some of the players held at Clyde Frazier’s Wine and Dine. The restaurant was fabulous & chic! It was filled to capacity with media, some football players and the who’s who! Athletes, editors, and celebs unwinded & enjoyed food, gifting and grooming.

The invitation was from 12pm to 12 am. 12pm to 4pm the gifting suite was going on. I arrived a bit late, so I missed some of the action but thankfully not all. There were delicious cupcakes to nibble on amongst other finger foods. While mingling I bumped into Meeka Claxton, who happened to remember me from the time we met at Tumbler and Tipsy’s NY Fashion Week show. I also got the chance to speak to football player Bryant McKinnie, who is so much bigger in person!! He was so nice, and gladly posed for a picture. It was such a pleasure meeting actor Darrin DeWitt Henson, who was at the event promoting his new book, “Intimate Thoughts”. He is even more handsome in person, and was so welcoming.

I had fun browsing through some of the brands that were showcasing their clothing and products. There was a young designer that has his own bow line, Mo’s Bows, which I thought was extremely adorable.

I took a look at some of the latest t-shirts from Invisible Bully. I also fell in love with some doggy apparel for a good cause! This light pink doggy dress with diamond embellishments caught my eye specifically because I know that my dog Ariel, who just passed away on March 2nd would’ve looked beautiful in it. Supra sneakers were on display, etc. I spotted Renee from Mob Wives, she breezed in looking very pretty and was enjoying herself with a few friends. I loved the goodie bag I received.

After the gifting suite, there was an exclusive “private-event” media dinner reserved for the athletes, media & sponsors to interact with the players and discuss news, draft information, and any questions that media wanted to ask.

Fast forward to 9pm, the Fusion Magazine Red Carpet Cover Party was in full swing! This party did not disappoint. Everyone was dressed ”Manhattan Chic” and ready for a night of fun. Once again, the lounge was full to the max. The music was on point too! The party was for the unveiling of the April edition with cover model and actor Laz Alonso. He looked great on the cover might I add, but I know nobody is surprised by that lol.

I was taking photos and guess who I ran into? There was a singing show on tv last year called Duets that unfortunately isn’t returning, but the winner of the show J Rome was at the party and it was such a pleasure meeting him! He is a very nice guy and is so talented. I wish him all of the best in his singing career.

The rest of the night went smoothly and I had a wonderful time! Thank you very much for the invite Ms. Nikkia, your events never disappoint! xo

While we’re listening to music, we all tend to be in our own world. I love the happy state that music puts me in. It frustrates me when my headphones are crappy, or they are harsh on my ears, etc. I know you guys can definitely relate to that.

When I came across the Diamond Tears headphones from Monster I fell in love instantly. First of all, if something glitters then it definitely catches my eye and these headphones are just beautiful. It’s so hard to find over-ear headphones that are feminine, stylish, sturdy, and have superior sound. Sound comes before appearance.

I was sold as soon as I looked at these headphones because they are so beautiful and you really can’t beat the sturdiness, the creativity of the design, packaging, and the sound is out of this world. These babies were perfect for a fashionista and even better for this fashion blogger/fashionista right here. Monster was generous enough to send me a pair. Thank you for enhancing my music experience and I am very happy to been given the opportunity to review your product.

Rich, Powerful, and Smooth

I’m one of those that runs to Walmart to grab a new pair of jelly headphones which are anywhere from $9.99 to $14.99. Time and time again they either popped, only worked in one ear, or irritated my ears. When I look back the amount of money I spent on jelly headphones (after purchasing them 2 to 3 times a month) probably equal the amount of money for these Diamond Tears. I’ve learned my lesson with those jellys.. you definitely get what you pay for. I can say this now because after using the Diamond Tears.. I now share my wonderful experience with a quality headphones. I’m hooked! It’s opened up a whole new world and my music sounds 20x better. The bass is crazy!! I feel as though I’m in the studio with the artist!

Comfort

Comfortable, Not too tight on the ears..

These headphones fit very snug, and are quite comfy for over-ear headphones. Sometimes I find with certain headphones they are too tight and the pressure gives me a migraine. They fold up and coming with a carrying case. This is very convenient for everyone — and I know that ladies would love this feature because it can fold up into your purse with no problem!

Packaging

Great, Creative..

I’m a sucker for packaging. When I was opening the box I couldn’t contain my excitement lol. I adore the fact that when you open the box the headphones rise up. On the inside top of the box a message reads “Edgy like Diamonds, Smooth like Tears..” The headphones fold up and come with a carrying case. Three cords also come with the headphones, one for your listening pleasure with your iPod.. and two more for your Android or iPhone. Love it!

Design

fashionista written all over it, amazing, beautiful

These headphones are for everyone, but I believe that Monster had ladies on their mind when designing this product. Fashion is definitely meant to be seen and heard. I appreciate the time and creativity put into designing these headphones — they are fabulous. For the fashion conscious consumer, you will be very happy after purchasing this product. You will be able to comfortably drift into your own world with these headphones, and all eyes will be on you as you do so. Amazing design..

Countdown ’till Beyonce’s Touchdown at the Beyoncebowl

King Bey’s Superbowl Performance

I don’t know about you, but I can’t focus on anything other than the fact that Beyonce is going to shut down that performancetomorrow at the Superbowl! King Bey will do the Beyhive proud, silencing all of the critics that had something to say earlier in the week — I just know it. She will be blessing us with 12 minutes of heaven, aka her music. I wonder what she is going to be performing..?! We all know that Crazy in Love will be performed, I wonder if Mr. Carter will join the Mrs. on the stage.. Omg. We have all heard the rumor about Kelly and Michelle joining Beyonce on stage also . I hope it is true, that’s the icing on the cake.

It’s great being a Beyonce stan/fan, she always exceeds your expectations.. even though our expectations are through the roof already. She wasn’t lying when she said “take you to another level, no passengers on my plane.” Words of a true boss .

All those who had slick things to say about her will be once again silenced by her wonderful performance. As she has said, she was born to do this. Beyonce is not just a singer, and a dancer — she’s the ultimate entertainer. If you’ve ever had the opportunity to see her live, I swear she takes you on a journey like no other. As your waiting for the performance to start, your nerves are all over the place and your excitement is indescribable. Then she comes out, and while she’s doing her thang you’re just mesmerized. I’m not even going to watch the performance, I’m going to inhale it lmao. I doubt I’ll even blink.. I have to make sure I remember to breathe too! Yes.. Beyonce is that big of a deal.

Bey usually asks the question “Are you ready to be entertained” before she starts her performances…

The answer is YES King Bey, we are ready!

Rihanna!

I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t wait to see Rihanna’s interview with Oprah! It’s airing on the OWN Network on August 19th.. We’re going to get the tea on everything going on in her life now, and a bit of her past! Oprah said that she was surprised by Rihanna — she was expecting a rocker, total bad a$$ and instead Rihanna showed her soft side and was very open. I’m very interested in watching this interview! Kelly Monaco! DWTS

I can’t wait to see the beautiful Kelly Monaco on the Dancing With The Stars All Stars!!

I loveeee Kelly, she’s my favorite Soap actress and I watch her everyday on General Hospital.

I was ecstatic when she won the first season of DWTS! I can’t wait to see her routines, etc. I know she’s going to kill it.
