MANDUKA®’s First Ever #MADEFORYOGA Apparel Available for Spring Summer 2016

Manduka, creators of high-performance yoga gear designed for and by yogis, officially entered the apparel market today with the launch of its first men’s and women’s activewear collection.  Integrating the highest standards of sustainability with performance, its first collection for both men and women is specifically #MadeForYoga and is available online at www.manduka.com and in nationwide yoga studios in the U.S and Europe.

“Before we sketched our first design, we asked ourselves, does the world need another line of activewear? The short answer was yes,” said Sky Meltzer, CEO of Manduka. “Yoga practitioners need apparel that is very specific, and technically crafted for the practice, which includes inversions and a broad range of motion. They need a line that is made for yoga – offering less distraction on the mat and more focus on the powerful results that come with a good practice.”

Activewear is currently the fastest growing segment of the apparel market and at the same time, the number of yoga practitioners is increasing year over year, opening a space in the market for a yoga brand that brings quality and authenticity to every product. Manduka’s approach to apparel begins with yoga and performance; to both enhance the practice and support the planet. Made from recycled polyester, organic cotton, hemp, Tencel & Modal and Sorona, each material allows for maximum comfort, fit and movement while playing a significant role in a sustainable ecosystem.

Spring Summer 2016 features 40 unique styles with a progressive point of view on crop tops and bras for women, and re-invents yoga pants, tanks and shorts for men, allowing for a more expansive stretch between the legs and maintaining form while inverting or in downward dog.  Fashion-forward with its priority in function, the full line features pants, bras, tees, shorts, tanks, hoodies and specialty pieces for the après yoga lifestyle.

SS16 MANDUKA COLLECTION HIGHLIGHTS

Manduka Women

Flux Legging: A dance-inspired design to keep you moving on the mat, the Flux Legging is constructed from supported, move-with-you, four-way stretch fabric, and offers a contour waist, a double-layer gusset for fit and durability, and wrap ties at the hem for a unique twist on a yoga legging. MSRP: $98

Elemental Halter: Made to take the heat, the Elemental Halter Bra has a high neck mesh front that simultaneously covers you up and lets you breathe. An interior bra fully supports you while the open back keeps you cool when the sweat begins to flow. Collection features a matching short and pant, sold separately. MSRP: $58

Manduka Men

Transcend Tee and Tank: With an engineered contour fit across the chest and hem and long back spine stitching to emphasize alignment, Transcend tees stay in place and won’t ride up even during demanding yoga inversions. Combining class T-shirt styling with a soft organic cotton and performance stretch fiber blend, the Transcend line is a new take on your go-to tees for on and off the mat. MSRP: $52-60

Intentional Hoodie: The Intentional Hoodie is made from a luxuriously soft French terry that is comforting inside and out. A simplified layering piece, it’s designed to wear over other pieces without adding bulk. The double-layered hood adds warmth and acknowledges our desire to look inward from time to time. MSRP: $108

KA-ZE Short: Inspired by athletes but made for yoga, the Ka-Ze Short has a slightly tapered leg for coverage you can count on and expansive cut that encourages a wider range of movement. The lightweight stretch fabric promotes airflow, keeping you comfortable and dry during class—and wherever the rest of the day may take you. MSRP: $72

To celebrate the launch of apparel, Manduka will bring the concept of Made For Yoga to life through a social campaign, highlighting the powerful stories of transformation through yoga. The digital activation will encourage yogis to share their own #MadeForYoga story on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter for an opportunity to win a suite of Made for Yoga gear and apparel.  Campaign will kick off on February 9, 2016.
