New York Fashion Week is just amazing every year, but this year it was just extra special for me because I got to attend fabulous fashion shows and participate. I won the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week contest on Twitter!! I was SO happy and excited, you don’t even know. I had a lot of help, which I am so appreciative of! This was a big step up from last September when I met my design idol, Vera Wang and others while visiting her store during Fashion’s Night Out. Oh my gosh, I was just tickled pink as I strutted around Lincoln Center in my wedges making my way to each show. I got to do my first Fashion Review, it was on the Joanna Mastroianni show. I met Tyson Beckford at the Nanette Lepore show! He was super nice and sweet. Model Toccara was also in attendance at the show.
I also spotted India de Beaufort from Jane By Design sitting front row looking radiant in one of Lepore’s “Baila Tango” dresses, from her new collection. There with her was the star of Jane by Design, Erica Dasher, who sported the “Waterfall” dress, also from Lepore’s new collection. They both looked FAB in my eyes. I love them both, and I am a huge fan of the show.
Also, I met my idol Beyonce’s stylist Ty at the Sachika show. He was so nice and looked so nice in person. We passed each other the next day at Lincoln Center while I was on my way to another show and he was leaving one. He said hey! -gushes- haha! I saw him take a peek at my glitter Uggs that I was wearing and I HOPE he didn’t think I was seriously wearing them to the shows, they were my recovery shoes until I got inside and slipped on my wedges lmao. Recovery Shoes are a pair of comfy shoes that every lady must pack in their purse just in case their heels get to be too much while they’re out! Comfy but matching of course (;
I had such a great time, and it is such a wonderful feeling to check something off my list of things that I’ve always wanted to do. I feel so blessed. I’m one step closer to fulfilling my dream.. and like I always say, I am determined to make my dreams my reality.
