Today I had the pleasure of meeting and being interviewed by Misa Hylton-Brim! Most of you probably already know who she is and those of you who don’t, she has styled a lot of people in Hip-Hop. Misa is a mom, a business woman, and an entrepreneur who has now taken on the title of teacher/educator. Ms. Hylton has opened up The Misa Hylton Fashion Academy! She is offering very intense courses on fashion styling. It covers everything from A to Z. It’s such a wonderful thing that someone with her experience and style reputation in this business is offering such a great opportunity.
As a fashion design student and as someone who definitely has a passion for fashion I was SO excited for this opportunity to learn about this aspect of the fashion business. As you all know, my ultimate goal is to have my own successful fashion line but as an up and coming fashion designer/entrepreneur I welcome the opportunity to learn from one of the best.
I had one on one with Ms. Hylton, and I was pleasantly surprised that she is hand picking and also meeting with every student that will be enrolled in her academy. I provided them with my resume and a few of my sketches along with a completed application. I must say I was VERY encouraged with their feedback to which Ms. Hylton said that I reminded her of herself 20 years ago when she started. I enjoyed my interview with her because she focused on the many opportunities that the fashion industry has to offer. I am very happy to say that I’ll be attending The Misa Hylton Fashion Academy for the Summer! Wow.. I have a busy Summer.. BUT I will find time for fun in the sun & splash around in all of my 2012 bathing suits! I’ll still be out & about in Miami and Punta Cana. You know what they say, work hard, play hard!
