What is the Origin Story of FashionXensation.com?
Why did you start your blog? Is that still why you blog,
or has your site gone in a different direction than you’d
planned?
Let’s go back, wayyyy back.. back into time! So I started my blog, www.FashionXensation.com in February 2012. Initially it didn’t look that great as I wasn’t that experienced with blogging, graphic design, or editing of any kind, but it was mine and I was proud of it. My color scheme was black and hot pink, and I remember that the set up of the website was kind of plain but the content was okay for a beginner.
I don’t really remember what my initial reason was for starting a blog to be completely honest/the origin story. As a Carrie Bradshaw obsessed Sex and The City fan, I think we all sigh in admiration when we watch Carrie type away at her keyboard in front of her window lol. While I loved to write, I never envisioned myself as a writer until I started this blog.
I believe I was reading up on something and then saw a conference about blogging, eventually starting the blog. I literally stumbled into this but I am pretty happy about!!
My website has expanded since I originally started my blog. I initially just wanted to keep everything fashion oriented but I love beauty so I had to include that and since I love covering entertainment events as well so I wanted to include that. Everything kind of went into a different direction but it was for the best! I am very happy that I started this when I was 19 years old.. I am 25 and 6 and a half years later, my blog is still running. Thank you for your support!
I love blogging and over the years I have said that I want to dedicate more time to my website as I was in school while I was running this for all of these years. Now, I have more than enough time to dedicate. It has truly been a labor of love. I crack myself up thinking of all of the years of covering Fashion Week while in class, rearranging my schedule, making up classes, managing homework and projects lol.. Once again, its been a labor of love, thank you all for your support over the years. I hope that the origin story of Fashion Xensation was entertaining!
