Prom 2012 Slim Gal Edition

Prom 2012 : Slim Gal Edition

Alright, before I get down to the ‘nitty-gritty’ of thaaangs, let me mention that most of these dresses are under* $500 dollars. When I am put on a BUDGET, my usual response is that the word BUDGET is not in my vocabulary. I  always  go over the amount that was set,  so why bother!  When I shop I buy what looks good on me.  I believe that point really needs to be stressed… BUY WHAT LOOKS GOOD ON YOU!  The price does not count, it’s about what you’re paying for and if it’s really worth it. Like I said.. I don’t do budgets, but when I do.. I’m going to get everything I paid for AND then some!
I remember in High School especially  around prom time, I would overhear the girls in the locker room or in class saying “My dress cost $800 dollars.”  In my mind I would wait to hear if the  next comment would be it looks so good on me. But 9 times out of 10 that comment never came.  Word to the Wise! When they try  to woooo you with the cost, they usually fall short on style. My advice is  don’t try to out do them in cost, Leave em speechless when you walk into the room! The reaction is PRICELESS!
Personally I own dresses in every price range ($30 to $2,500) I say that not brag but to make the point that I rock each and everyone like its a million dollars because if I paid for it you better believe IT LOOKS GOOD ON ME. I don’t try to look like anyone other than myself.. and maybe a little bit of Beyonce.. only Beyonce lmao!!!
Now, like I said before.. I did not wear long gowns to my proms even though that was the ‘in’ thing to do. So for that reason, I added in a few short dresses also! I LOVE the last dress in the first combined set of photos. Omg, that is such a showstopper! I love feathers, I think that they just yell ‘I am here’! All eyes on me! If you have the flava, the body, the legs, and the correct/pair of fabulous shoes to rock it, GO FOR IT!! Please don’t attempt if you DON’T have any of the above lmao. I just love that dress, it reeks fierceness. Loves it! If you’re going to go short then wear a bold or unique color so you can stand out for all right reasons! The whole one sleeve look is both stylish and effortless!
I threw in lots of colors. I know some of you ladies have  chosen black as your prom dress color. Its an elegant look. But honestly, it looks better on tanned or bronzed skin. So, there’s a short black dress and a long one in the pictures. 5 black Dresses all together, so please check it out.
CORAL! How I love thee. Someone please take the PLUNGE.. and blow us all away in a coral dress this prom year! CORAL, looks wonderful on African-Americans. It really pops! It looks fab on all types of tan skin.
The eleventh dress in the 1st batch of pictures is so NICE. It’s a beautiful and unusual color and the diamonds just set it off!
**You can never go wrong with PERIWINKLE !! I love this color, go for it go for it!! It reeks elegance.**
The cowl neck is great, once again.. very elegant.
GO BOLD, with that multi-colored print dress in the second batch of pictures. It’s a lot.. but I like it. I know that there is someone out there who could do this justice.
You should STRIVE to look effort less and stylish. When you look like you tried .. that usually means you FAILED!  Choose a dress that is flatters  your skin tone, and body type. Keep the hairstyles simple and make sure it fits your face and compliments your dress. (The goal is to look flawless & effortless) Don’t try to look like anyone else for the night, or choose a dress that’s not for you because it will not work at all.
If you feel your dress needs more BLING! Go ahead girl don’t be afraid!  Blind them with Swarovski Crystals (my favorite!!), get the crystals added to your dress.
Ruching is in this year! Excuse me.. it never left!  lmao. I love seeing dresses with lots of ruching, its VERY FLATTERING to any shape! It hides all of your flaws.
Alright girls, make me proud this prom season! Leave ’em speachless!! Lets take it to the next level. Why be ordinary when you could be XENSATIONAL!
Send me your comments & pictures! xoxo

We’re coming to an end.. but I’ll leave you with these last words of mine..
**You want to look like you’re wearing the dress..
not that the dress is wearing you!**
