NYFW – Fashion Xensation
Hi everyone! It’s been a quite a while since my last post, but my hiatus is over. Let’s catch up. Fashion Week was last week. As you all know, I’ve covered New York Fashion Week for 4 seasons. That is something that I take great pride in because it is invite only, and every September and February when my email is overflowing with invites it reminds me of how far my blog has really come!
This season would’ve been my 5th season covering, but I couldn’t attend everything I was invited to! I am still so happy though because I received my invite count tripled this year!! I also received my first physical invite too, which I always imagined getting later on in my blogging career.. so imagine my surprise when I received it after only 2 years of blogging! Those in the business know how much of a big deal that is. Usually only editors, buyers, certain bloggers and stylists receive those. Still shocked, haha. It was to the Diesel Black Gold show I was uber happy when I was told that I had backstage access too, which is also another first for me.
Just my luck, right.. all of these great things happened to me during a season that I couldn’t cover everything lol. I’m still extremely happy about my progress. This year IMG said that they would be dropping the amount of invites that would be given to bloggers by a massive amount. To still have received Lincoln Center invites —– triple my usual amount at that, is a huge accomplishment and I’m proud of myself and my blog. I would like to thank each and every designer that invited me to their shows, after parties, presentations, and launches. I would also like to thank all of the PR firms that are always so kind to me, and lastly, all of the boutique that wanted to work with me this year. Even though I wasn’t in attendance for every event I was invited to, I was definitely there in spirit and I will be there with bells on in September.
I really can’t stress it enough, I love what I do. When you do what you love it never feels like work. I can’t wait until my designs are being presented in the near future.. Whenever I attend a show I think the best part is seeing the huge smile that every designer sports while taking their bow on the runway after their collection was presented.. they are just beaming with pride. I can’t wait to feel that. Until then, I’m loving my role as a fashion blogger .. it feels amazing to see how far my blog has come in the matter of 2 years. I’ll keep sketching and making connections because I can’t wait until a Xenia Amirah Original graces the runway.. Below are just a few of the invites that I received this year, click on them to magnify..
~ Until next time..
