Yesterday I attended an event to celebrate the launching of American Beauty Star, which is Lifetime’s new (soon to be smash hit) competition series. We all gathered at the Gramercy Park Hotel which is beautiful by the way, and listened to the star judges go into detail about all that went into filming this show.
The show is hosted by the beautiful Adriana Lima, who already predicted that this show will not only have a second season but also many seasons beyond that. I have my fingers crossed for her! I think that the show will be quite exciting to watch as the concept is innovative compared to other competition shows around now. We also don’t find many competition shows based on makeup artistry.
It was such an honor to meet Adriana as I am sure I am not the only person that sat at the tv at a young age and dreamed of being a VS Angel because of all that is Adriana. She is one of my favorite models. I have always admired her drive, her beauty, and her vibrant personality. She is so flawless, guys!!
Celebrity makeup artist Sir John is a contestant mentor on the show which will be quite exciting to watch! He seems like a fun spirit and he was a joy to meet in person. He is a very sought after makeup artist and guess what guys — he beats the face of Queen Bey! He is responsible for her smokey eyes and glow, so I don’t think that these contestants could have a better mentor.
Vogue’s Beauty Director Sarah Brown is a judge as well as photographer Russell James. There will be a series of celebrity guests and influencers joining the judging panel each week so that will keep things new. Some guests to look out for include Michelle Phan, Michelle Williams, Huda and Mona, Ta’Rhonda Jones from Empire, Christie Brinkley, Camilia Alves, etc.
American Beauty Star premieres this Thursday, September 21st at 10:30 PM on Lifetime!!
